I grew up in the 90's a time when there was a battle for dominance in the fighter genre. Many joined the camp of Street Fighter, a good choice because no one wants to fuck with Ryu or Zangief or M. Bison...basically you don't want to end up on the bad side of any character from that universe. Others joined the ranks of Tekken, again a list of great characters. Some backed Virtua Fighter, a classic that has lost its way.
However, there was only one fighter that captured my imagination as a child. A game so brutal and amazing. A game so iconic that it has had an impact on many people.
Mortal Kombat!
This is the series I pledged my allegiance to. And there were 2 characters out of all the characters in every fighter ever made that to me were badass. Scorpion and Sub Zero. These are my fighting game icons. Sure, you might want other showdowns in the game like Raiden vs Liu Kang or something but no! The classic match will always be Scorpion vs Sub Zero and I cannot wait to do battle with the new Mortal Kombat.
Also, I can't wait to see them appear in Mortal Kombat: Legacy which is a web series you should be watching.
